As part of the statewide scale-up of the SATHI (Skill Augmentation and Team Building for Health Improvement) initiative, the India Primary Health Care Support Initiative (IPSI) team, at IIPH-Gandhinagar, conducted a series of field monitoring and mentorship observation visits in June and July 2026.
The visits assessed the ground-level impact of SATHI modules, evaluated team dynamics at Sub-Centre Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (SC-AAMs), and provided on-site handholding support to mentors and frontline health teams.
Mentor Observation
The IPSI team evaluated active SATHI mentors on clinical delivery, pedagogical quality, and their ability to foster a supportive, non-hierarchical learning environment for the health workforce.
Sub-Centre Readiness
Monitoring teams assessed facility readiness and the extent to which Community Health Officers (CHOs), ANMs, MPHWs, and ASHAs are collaborating as a cohesive unit to deliver comprehensive primary care.
Field Data Collection
A 6-member intern team collected real-time field data on training quality, attendance, and operational issues, supporting timely adjustments to the course.
Next Steps
Insights from the SATHI Mentor and Sub-Centre observation checklists are being synthesized into dashboards, which will inform upcoming block and district-level review meetings and support the ongoing scale-up of the initiative.
