A district-level sensitization and stakeholder consultation was held on 17th April 2025 in Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi, as part of the IPSI initiative to strengthen primary health care services. The meeting brought together key district officials, including the CDM&PHO, ADPHOs, DPMU officials, BPHOs, BPMs, and BDMs from Junagarh and Bhawanipatna blocks, along with teams from AIIMS Bhubaneswar, AIIMS New Delhi, and Johns Hopkins University.
The session focused on planning and coordination for the implementation of the Point of Care Quality Improvement (POCQI) initiative in selected health facilities. Specific discussion points included the identification of facilitators, formation of the district technical working group, and scheduling qualitative assessments.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar and AIIMS New Delhi team members will lead various phases such as formative assessment, facilitator training, and baseline surveys. A workshop and soft launch of POCQI activities are being considered for June–July 2025.
Additionally, the team explored the design and rollout of district-level data use training.
More batches of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) workshop for district and block-level officers were proposed to enhance operational understanding and ensure uniform implementation of CPHC models across Kalahandi.
The consultation concluded with strong inter-departmental support and a shared commitment to improving primary healthcare delivery in the district.
