A two-day primary health teams coaching training workshop was held in West Garo Hills, Meghalaya, on January 19-20, 2026.
This second phase of coaching training for the nineteen mentors covered three modules: ‘Shared Responsibility’, ‘Team Collaboration’, and ‘Team purpose’. The sessions were facilitated by public health experts from JHU, IIPH-S (IPSI team), Senior District Medical and Health officials, and organized by the Indian Institute of Shillong (IIPH-S). A second-facilitator guidebook in the series, providing content for Health and Wellness Center (HWC) teams on the modules, was shared with the mentors and used to train them.
The workshop also served as a platform for coach pairs to reflect on and discuss their coaching efforts over the past three months. These sessions included reflections on their experiences with their HWC team, the content of the modules, how the HWC teams engaged with the content, challenges faced in terms of implementation, logistics, and the strategies or solutions they implemented to overcome them.
The implementation of these final modules is currently underway in the 27 intervention HWCs.
