An annual retreat for IPSI project was held on 13th and 14th January 2024 at Delhi NCR. The main objective of this two days event was to take stock of the project journey so far and more importantly to plan the strategies needed to be adopted for next couple of years.
All IPSI partners took part with their entire teams. This included- Johns Hopkins University, and AIIMS-New Delhi, IIPH-Gandhinagar and SHSRC-Gujarat, AIIMS-Bhubaneshwar, IIPH-Shillong, and Jhpiego India. The faculty as well as the project coordinators and research officers stationed at the select districts attended the retreat. There was also representation from the district health departments of Kalahandi (Odisha) and Bhavnagar. (Gujarat) . Dr. T Sundararaman (expert in primary health care) also participated and provided his valuable feedback.
The two-day retreat comprised of various activities such as brainstorming to ideate the demonstration strategies in each of the districts, skill building workshop for qualitative research methods, presentation of HWC facility scorecards being developed, panel discussion on emerging primary health care areas of interest and so forth. Each of the partner teams presented their work plans and received constructive feedback from colleagues and experts in the audience. The team also enjoyed some fun activities of trekking, singing, and a unique primary health care themed scavenger hunt that certainly added a fun element and helped in team building.
The meeting concluded with defining the scope of work for new year, which would include key demonstration activities on HWC team mentoring, community engagement intervention, and quality improvement initiative.
