A two-day mentor training workshop was held in Bhavnagar, Gujarat on 29-30 May 2025.
This fourth and final phase of SATHI training for the twenty mentors covered modules eight, nine, ten and eleven – ‘Problem Solving for SHC Teams’, ‘Leadership within Teams’, ‘Self-help and Wellbeing’, and ‘Taking stock and Wrap-up’. The sessions were facilitated by public health experts from JHU and IIPHG (IPSI team) and organised by Indian Institute of Gandhinagar (IIPH-G). A fourth-facilitator guidebook in the series, with content for Sub-health Centre (SHC) teams on the modules, was shared with the mentors and used to train them.
The workshop also served as a platform for mentor pairs to reflect on and discuss their mentoring efforts over the past three months. These sessions included reflections on the experiences with their sub-health centre team, module content, how the SHC teams engaged with the content, challenges faced, and the strategies or solutions they implemented to overcome them.
The implementation of these final modules is currently underway in the 20 intervention SHCs.
