Following a successful 12-month intervention, the Sathi Team Mentoring Program’s closing ceremony was organised by IIPH-Gandhinagar on October 30th, 2025. The event was attended by mentors, mentees, officials and representatives from the district and partner institutions.
Panel Reflections
Dr. Anish (IIPHG) shared his reflection on the Sathi program, its journey, and plans for state-level implementation and adoption. As a mentor and vice-principal of the nursing college, Mrs. Mital Patel reflected on the positive impact of the program on her professional and personal life.
Dr. Aboli, from the central IPSI team, appreciated the field-level impact and emphasized continued mentoring as a sustainable approach towards health system strengthening. Dr. Tapsvi (IIPHG) extended his gratitude to District Health Team, SHSRC, JHU, the IPSI Bhavnagar team, all the mentors and mentees for their effort and support to the program.
Dr. Chandramani Kumar Prasad (CDHO) spoke about sustaining Sathi activities, improving health indicators and service quality, and motivating staff to continue working together as a cohesive team.
Reflections from the field
Sathi Mentors: the Saathi closing ceremony marked a significant milestone in our collective journey of mentoring, learning, and collaboration. The mentors shared their positive experiences, emphasizing strong cooperation from mentees and continuous support from IPSI and IIPHG staff throughout the program. Many mentors expressed hope that this initiative would be recognized, and scaled up at both the state and national levels, given its strong impact on teamwork and service delivery.
Mentee Reflections
Earlier we were not working together, but now we do. We don’t feel anxious or stressed when mentors visit. It has become a comfortable and supportive learning environment

Initially, I felt we were not included, but later we were fully involved. We did not participate because of incentives or compulsion, but because we genuinely liked and learned from it. the last module also improved our mental and personal health.

Because of Sathi program, we all came together as one team. Relationships among us have strengthened. We received great team support, improved clinical skills, and communication within the team also enhanced significantly.

The mentors and the mentees received mementos and certificates to mark their successful participation in the intervention. The program concluded with a renewed sense of unity, learning, and motivation to carry forward the Sathi spirit into the HWC teams’ daily work.
