Dr. Priyamadhaba Behera is a trained medical professional with a keen interest in public health research. He has completed his MD (Community Medicine) from AIIMS, New Delhi, and MA (Population Studies) from IIPS, Mumbai, India. His interest areas of work are mental health, chronic disease care, tribal health, and epidemiology. He is passionate about comprehensive clinical care, community-based activities, research, and innovations. He has published around 50 research articles and eight books/reports in peer-reviewed national and international journals. He is part of three multinational collaborative projects and six multicentric projects in India. He received the Nilakanta Rao Award from the Gandhi Memorial Leprosy Foundation on 6 October 2010, the Prof. Bidwadi Fellowship for research in rural health care in 2015,
“Presidential Appreciation Award Year 2022-23” in the 50th National IAPSM (Golden Jubilee) Conference. He was part of the expert group for preparing national policy guidelines: SOP on COVID-19 Containment & Management in Periurban, Rural & Tribal areas, Government of India, Ministry of Health &Family Welfare & part of review meeting for preparing NCD Health Emergency Framework & documenting best practices adopted by the states/UTs for continuing NCD services during COVID-19 pandemic in India. He is the Program Coordinator/In-charge for the National Service Scheme Bureau at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, India. He is part of the National Mental Health Survey 2 team in India.
