The Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) facility data validation survey has been developed to inform about the capacity of the centres to deliver mandated services and availability of these services in the selected districts.
The survey is planned to be initiated at Kalahandi district. The sample size for the survey consists of 50 HWCs (40 SHCs and 10 PHCs) across 9 blocks of the district. Data collection is planned in the month of September.
As a first step of the survey, a three-day training of field investigators and supervisors was undertaken in August 2024 with the following objectives:
At the end of this training, data collectors should be able to:
- Understand and use the HWC facility survey questionnaire
- Collect and input data in Epicollect
- Understand timeline and plan for data collection
AIIMS-Bhuvaneshwar faculty and IPSI-JHU team facilitated the training that comprised of topics such as overview of the district health system, ethics in research, and reading of questions and responses. The data collection team practiced dummy data entry in Epicollect software during the training.
As part of the training, pilot testing of the tool was conducted at 4 HWCs (two SHCs and two PHCs). Modifications were made in the tool based on pilot.
