Better quality of care (QoC) at primary health care facilities is essential for India to achieve Universal Health Coverage . Over the past decade, several national quality initiatives including the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), Kayakalp, and Labour room quality improvement initiative (LaQshya) have been launched to standardize and elevate quality in healthcare delivery.

A cross-learning visit was organized for the Meghalaya Health Department team and Indian Institute of Public Health- Shillong (IIPHS) to Bhavnagar, Gujarat, from July 14-16 July 2025. The purpose of the visit was for the Meghalaya team to observe the SATHI Mentoring Program currently being implemented at the Sub-Health Centre (HWC) level and draw insights into the Coaching pilot being planned at the PHC level in Meghalaya.
